“We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better wedding venue. Everything was so well organised, the staff were brilliant, and the whole day ran so smoothly.
The venue looked absolutely beautiful. A special shoutout to Dave the Toastmaster, who was fantastic from start to finish. He kept everything running on time, made us feel at ease, and added such a great touch to the day with his professionalism and sense of humour.
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to Craig, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble, and we really appreciated everything he did to make our day so special. Thank you all for helping make our wedding such an unforgettable day. “We had our wedding at Stirk House, and I honestly cannot put into words how perfect the day was from start to finish. The entire team were absolutely incredible – they thought of every detail and made sure everything ran seamlessly.
From organising the seating charts, setting up the décor exactly where we wanted it, to even placing the topper on our cake, nothing was too much trouble. Walking down the aisle felt effortless thanks to the amazing staff, who timed everything perfectly – even counting all the brides party in so the music flowed exactly as I’d imagined.
They made sure we were completely taken care of the whole day, which meant we could relax and just enjoy every moment. The food was exceptional – so many of our guests are still talking about it, especially the butternut squash soup, which has been dubbed by many as the best soup they’ve ever had!
A special mention has to go to Dave, our Master of Ceremonies, whose energy was fantastic and who really kept the whole day buzzing. He got the crowd going and made the atmosphere so fun and memorable. Our guests had the best time, and we couldn’t have asked for more.

“Stirk House and the whole team made all our dreams come true on our wedding day. From the day we booked our wedding with them, everything was so easy and they were such a pleasure to communicate and plan with.
Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel so welcomed, looked after and safe in their hands! The actual wedding day was just unbelievable. From first thing in the morning, the team ensured that everything ran so smoothly and there was such a calm but exciting atmosphere around us.
Dave is truly amazing at what he does and made sure everything was perfect and ran as it should do. We honestly couldn’t fault anything at all. We would highly, highly recommend this venue. Just amazing.”
“This may be a long read but if you want to know why Stirk House is an absolutely amazing place – please read on.
Ok. Where do I begin!! We recently decided to get married after being together for 24 years. We visited LOTS of venues but after falling in love with Stirk House – everywhere else just seemed to pale in comparison, so the decision was easy.
We actually stayed over a while ago as standard guests & we couldn’t have been more impressed! Admittedly, I can be picky when it comes to hotels etc, but I could not have found ANYTHING to be picky about if I tried. The service was outstanding.
Every single member of staff went above and beyond in everything. The cleanliness was spot on. The food was absolutely gorgeous. The grounds are kept pristine. We’ve stayed in 5-star hotels around the world & Stirk House stood out by a country mile!!
Fast forward to our wedding day. It genuinely could not have been more perfect & a HUGE part of that was because of the staff at Stirk House. Dave (master of ceremonies) is an absolute star!! The job he does is massively underestimated. I can’t say enough good words about Dave, the kind of man he is, and the service he provides.
Every member of staff was amazing. The rooms were beautifully dressed. The day ran exceptionally smooth. They really go all out on making your big day as perfect and memorable as it can be.
I could go on forever but I’ll end it on this. The following morning, I remarked to the head chef that all the staff were so nice and that literally everybody goes out of their way to help you – and he said ‘Do you know why? It’s because every single one of us LOVES working here’.
And he meant it. Seems trivial, but just think about that. For such a large workforce, that’s a rarity in this day in age. I think that says it all.”

“Myself & my husband Jack got married at Stirk House on the 12th of July this year. 2 years ago we went for afternoon tea and ended up booking a wedding. From the early stages of planning till the actual wedding day itself, everything Stirk House did was perfect.
Every single member of the team is welcoming and helpful, nothing is too much. Dave is the man that made our day so magical, he made us feel so special and got everyone up on their feet for the celebrations. Danielle, Lucy, Molly and the rest of the wedding team are phenomenal and the attention to detail was 2nd to none.
I knew our wedding day would be lovely, but they made it truly a day to remember. Everything was exquisite and absolutely perfect from start to finish. The whole team really do deserve every single award they win.
I know we’re biased but it was the best day of our lives and the feedback we’ve had regarding your team, you really should all hold your head’s high…….if anyone is thinking of getting married here……stop looking elsewhere and get it booked I promise you now you will never regret it”.

“When you know, you know. We visited a variety of venues at various price points before our visit to Stirk House.
We wanted somewhere to spend the entire day, so no worries around transport from A to B or timings to consider. Stirk House is beautiful and the team that work there are polite, welcoming and happy you can see it in the way they work and their attentiveness to not only the bride & groom to be, but with every person there.
Before we booked the venue, we attended a couple of the taster days to ensure the food met our expectations. We needn’t have worried it was all delicious. Dave, master of ceremonies is amazing. We had guests attending with autism and others requiring wheelchair access. Dave walked us through the accessibility routes that could be taken and consideration he would make towards our nephew.
The day was perfect in every way with everything, seamlessly, running like clockwork, again mainly due to Dave managing us and our guests through the ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast and outside for fireworks.
Stirk House were also attentive to our suppliers, ensuring they were set up as required and they were kept refreshed throughout the day. Little touches we provided such as the welcome mirror, seating plan and basket of confetti were set up and placed to our requirements.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Stirk House and intend on visiting regularly knowing what a gem we’ve found.”

Stirk House exceeded our expectations by far! We booked our wedding back in October 2022 for 12th August 2025.
The staff were amazing and quick at responding to my emails and answered any questions we had along the way. On our wedding day the team took the lead and ensured every detail was perfect.
I didn’t have to worry or think about anything at all. The team were highly organised and professional. Dave was outstanding as toast master and our guests commented on how fabulous he was at arranging the day making sure everyone knew what was happening and where they needed to be.
If you’re thinking of booking Stirk House, please do! You will not be disappointed, there’s a reason it has won best venue!

“We got married at Stirk House a few days ago. I honestly don’t know where to begin. From booking the venue in 2023 to our wedding day, the whole team have been incredible.
The communication from the team during the planning process was fantastic – from conversations regarding the wedding, to discussing the rooming lists with reception. I was never once made to feel silly for ringing / emailing with questions (and believe me, there was a lot!)
Our wedding day was perfection and the whole team at Stirk House blew our (already high) expectations, out of the water. I knew we’d have a good day, but I didn’t realise just how amazing our day was going to be. The day ran so smoothly which was all down to our vendors and the communication, knowledge and expertise of the wedding and events team.
The venue is just beautiful. The grounds were immaculately maintained and the interior of the venue and bedrooms were spotless! The canapés and wedding breakfast were incredible and we’ve received so many compliments from our friends and family about how tasty the food was.
We want to take a moment to recognise Dave, Lucy, Molly, Kiera & Danielle for their incredible knowledge, skill and eye for detail. Without them all, our wedding day wouldn’t have been perfect.

“As soon as we first visited Stirk House, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The team made us feel so welcome, and even on an open day, made us feel like we were the only people getting married there.
From start the finish, everything was super organised and communication was always prompt. If we had any questions or issues, the team were always on hand to help. Once the wedding day came around, I can honestly say I couldn’t fault it. All the staff were so organised and couldn’t do enough for us.
The venue looked amazing, the food was spectacular and all our guests had the most amazing day. Stirk House has so much to offer: the Gallery Suite provided a gorgeous intimate space for the ceremony; the private terrace is fabulous for drinks in the sunshine; the ballroom has the perfect combination of spaces to chat/relax and space to party; and all your friends and family can stay over night in the most spacious rooms you could imagine!

“We recently celebrated our wedding at the Stirk House Hotel, and it was truly an unforgettable experience.
From the moment we stepped into the reception area, we were greeted with genuine warmth and hospitality. The atmosphere instantly put us at ease, making us feel right at home. Danielle, Lucy, and the entire wedding team were an absolute delight to work with.
From our initial meetings to the meticulous planning process, they were incredibly accommodating and reassuring every step of the way. No request was too big or small, and they went above and beyond to ensure our special day was nothing short of perfect.
The pre-wedding meal we organised the evening before was a highlight. Despite our delayed arrival, the restaurant staff graciously adjusted the timing of the meal so we could enjoy it with our guests. The food was exceptional, and they seamlessly catered to various dietary restrictions and food allergies without compromising on quality or taste.
The venue itself is simply stunning. The gallery provided an intimate setting for our ceremony, while the ballroom was the ideal space for our wedding breakfast and evening reception. We also utilised the Pendle room for greeting guests and as a fun chill-out space during the festivities, complete with games and photo props.
A special mention must go to Dave, who expertly managed our day from start to finish. His professionalism, attention to detail, and calming presence ensured that everything ran smoothly, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy every moment.
In summary, the Stirk House Hotel exceeded all our expectations and provided the perfect backdrop for our special day. We cannot recommend it highly enough.”

“Truly don’t even know where to begin with our review because every single detail about Stirk House is incredible and words don’t quite do the venue and staff justice.
We were recommended Stirk House by relatives who had stayed and had been to weddings at Stirk. Myself and my husband live in Australia and were returning to England for our big day, so we were unable to view any locations in person or meet the staff.
We enquired at a few places and explained our location and situation and was met with many brochures and not much else. Danielle replied the same day and provided me with brochures, recommendations and personalised it as to how Stirk could assist me in planning a long distance wedding, including video tours of Stirk and meetings via Zoom.
I planned the wedding 3 years in advance, the whole time Danielle, Lucy and all other members of staff that I interacted with were friendly, extremely helpful, always replied super promptly and couldn’t do enough to help. I definitely always had 100 questions, but the team were always on hand to answer and help me in any way.
It amazes me to think how many weddings/events they are always organising and running and they always had time to reply to my emails and provide me with all information I needed.
Myself and 20 of our guests stayed at Stirk the night before the wedding and was blown away by how beautiful the venue was, and the friendliness of staff. Stirk was dressed beautifully for Christmas, the fire lit and provided just the most incredible atmosphere. The rooms were so clean, warm and comfortable and the food delicious!
On the day of our wedding, absolutely everything was smooth sailing. Dave, Danielle & the team had every detail to plan, we didn’t have to worry about a thing. It was the most chilled morning. Breakfast was brought up to the bridal suite and myself and my bridesmaids and mum were able to enjoy this whilst having our hair and makeup done.
Dave came up and brought the important things, like champagne and glasses! Dave also took the time to get to know who was who in our bridal party and gave me a run down of timings. Dave and Danielle checked in with us regularly and were on hand for whatever we needed.
Dave has the most incredible charisma and really made our day! He had everything on time and had our guests where they needed to be. The food for our wedding breakfast was incredible. All the staff were attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
It’s crystal clear why Stirk House and the staff; Danielle, Dave, Lucy and the team are award winning. Every single element of our day was perfect and I don’t believe we would have got close to this anywhere else.
We are still blown away by just how stunning Stirk House is, and with staff who feel like family!

“The only word we can use to describe our wedding day is; perfection. Danielle, Molly, Lucy, & the whole team were magnificent from the day we booked, to our big day.
Communication was an absolute breeze & they answered all of our questions (big & small) without complaint or hesitation. All of our requests were accommodated, even those which fell outside of the package we purchased.
The day ran completely smoothly & no request was too big or too small for the Stirk House team. We didn’t have to worry about anything apart from enjoying every moment. The Master of Ceremonies kept everything flowing & we were informed about every step along the way. He kept the crowd excited & moved everyone around seamlessly.
The day was a dream & the whole team are complete experts who you can trust we every single detail. We would say that we are sad we can’t do it again but it was so beautiful that we don’t think we could beat it!

“The best wedding venue! What a spectacular venue Stirk House is! Right from the very beginning Lucy, Danielle and Molly were incredibly helpful and informative.
Throughout the planning stages they made us feel that our wedding was a priority and did not hesitate to answer our questions (a lot!!) with ease. They made our planning less stressful as they made us feel calm and assured and we knew with their professionalism that everything was in good hands.
Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and that is thanks to this outstanding venue and the wonderful staff that uphold such high standards. “We recently had our wedding at Stirk House and I can honestly say we chose THE BEST venue for the day.
From first contact the wedding team were amazing. Their responses were quick and we were able to set up meetings to book and discuss the wedding with ease. They went above and beyond to meet our needs of our special day and were extremely accommodating of change’s especially due to us having 3 young children.
We booked a pre-wedding meal the night before the wedding and the food was amazing along with the staff. They couldn’t do enough for us. On the morning of the wedding everything had been planned perfectly and the staff were on had to help everything run smoothly.
Throughout our wedding day and whole stay at Stirk House all the staff were just outstanding. A special mention to Dave who was just perfect at keeping the day running smoothly and organising people into the right places at the right time. The food was amazing and so many people have commented on how beautiful it was.
The drinks service was very efficient and the bar staff were very friendly. So many people have commented to us how much of a wonderful day it was.
