Find out more about the fascinating Sawley Abbey with free guided tours by English Heritage. Set in the historic village of Bolton-by-Bowland, the ruins have stood for centuries and, after the dissolution of the monasteries, some of the stone was used to build Stirk House! Tours are volunteer led and start at the enterance gates of the abbey, just a short journey from the hotel – A must visit for those who love local history!
